Mr. Sunil Mital had a bold vision: to establish a name synonymous with excellence in men’s tailoring in India. With a passion for timeless craftsmanship, he earned a professional degree from the prestigious Tailoring and Design Centre, London, in 1977. Fueled by this expertise, he returned to India and laid the foundation for The Darzi Group in 1981 — a legacy that began as a humble tailoring house in Rajouri Garden.
From the very beginning, Mr. Mital displayed the foresight of a true visionary. He revolutionized the tailoring industry by introducing computerized tailoring operations, setting new standards in the world of custom men’s suits.
Recognizing the growing demand for fine ethnic wear, he launched Studio Firang in 2001 — The Darzi Group’s answer to bespoke ethnic tailoring for the modern man.
In 2013, his son, Mr. Sushain Mital, joined the business. Holding an Honours Degree in Bespoke Tailoring and a Master’s in Pattern Design from the London College of Fashion, Sushain brought international refinement to the craft. His training under renowned Savile Row names, such as Richard James and Henry Poole & Co., further strengthened The Darzi Group’s reputation — not just in India, but globally.
To meet the increasing demand for rare, luxurious fabrics, the Mital duo introduced Mirasu in 2016. As the third venture under the Darzi Group umbrella, Mirasu reflects both innovation and heritage, quickly earning acclaim for its premium offerings.
Together, these three ventures — The Darzi Group, Studio Firang, and Mirasu — represent a perfect blend of heritage and modernity, offering clients bespoke suits, custom ethnic wear, and fine tailoring unmatched in quality.
